Strategic Planning

The Situation

A CEO hired into a new organization felt the constant busyness of the team and the push and pull of the organization to continue to take on more. The CEO wanted to bring the Board and leaders together to create a strategic plan that would determine what matters most, what can wait, and how to prove that the work is creating tangible change.

Our Approach

Stack’d partnered with senior leadership to co-create a three-year strategic plan designed to focus limited resources where they matter most. We designed a collaborative, choice-driven planning process that built real ownership: high-touch Board engagement and broad leadership participation, which transformed competing priorities into a clear, shared path with measurable outcomes. Inclusive engagement + explicit choices = a strategy people own and can execute.

Value Received

  • Clarity on What Matters: A short list of must-win priorities, plus explicit not now’s’, sequenced over three years.
  • Measurable Progress: A plan tied to meaningful metrics and board reporting that makes progress visible.
  • Aligned Leadership & Governance: Board, executives, and managers working from the same playbook with clear roles and decision points.
  • Broad Buy-In: Inclusive engagement converted skepticism into enthusiasm, setting the organization up to execute.
