Operational Transformation
The Situation
When the Canadian federal government moved to cap international student enrolment, a large post-secondary institution saw an opportunity to rethink how it operated and ask a question that unlocks value in almost any organization: what do we truly need, versus what have we simply grown accustomed to having?
The President recognized the moment for what it was, a chance to build a more focused, financially resilient institution and engaged Stack'd to help leadership move quickly, assess independently, and make decisions they could champion with confidence.
Our Approach
Stack'd partnered with the leadership team through a phased rapid assessment across five functions: Academics, Administrative Services, Applied Research, Continuing Education, and Advancement. We led with a deliberate stakeholder and communications strategy because transparency early builds the trust that makes change possible. We completed an independent financial and organizational assessment before entering a single workshop, arriving with a point of view on where the greatest opportunities lived. Working alongside the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, we built a scorecard that translated financial complexity into real, sequenced choices with honest timing, transparent costs, and a rationale leadership could stand behind.
Value Received
Stack'd identified $15+ million in combined revenue and cost savings opportunities, translating financial complexity into a scorecard the executive team could champion. The President walked away with an aligned team and a path forward built on decisions the institution chose deliberately with sequenced priorities.
