Organizational Design

The Situation

Stack’d was engaged by a not-for-profit to support the redesign of the organization’s structure to better align with and enable their new strategic plan. They had formed an internal project team but required our expertise and facilitation to assess opportunities for improvement, define and develop a future-focused organizational structure, and build a plan to implement the new structure over time.

Our Approach

To achieve the goal of restructuring their organization to successfully enable the new strategic plan, Stack’d :
  1. Completed a detailed current state assessment including stakeholder consultation and a quantitative assessment of the organization’s current structure
  2. Engaged the leadership team to define a future-state operating model and define the capabilities required to successfully enable this model and strategic plan in the future
  3. Developed and assessed three alternative future-state structures and co-developed a preferred structure that supported the future operating model and key capabilities
  4. Created a high-level, phased transition roadmap

Value Received

The not-for-profit is currently the first phase of transitioning their organization to the target organizational structure. They have been equipped with a clear plan for carrying out the transition with defined actions and change management considerations over the next two years.
